The Fire Service has a lot to offer. Whether you're looking for a possible career or just want to take an active role in your community, the Sauk Village Fire Department is always taking applications for new recruits. If you are 18 or older, live in Sauk Village, have a valid driver's license, and can pass a background check and physical and can commit time away from home for training and calls, then this is a good place to start.

New recruits are put through a ten week probationary course, which is a basic introduction to the fire department. Following this, a probationary member will attend a six month (two nights a week and Saturday mornings) fire academy to earn your State Firefighter Certification. With this certificate in hand, many doors open.
