Finance and Administration Department

The goal of the Finance Department is to allocate resources in an efficient and responsible manner, in order to provide services to the citizens of Sauk Village. The Finance Department is responsible for administering the Village's financial plan as well as developing and implementing the financial policies of the Village.

The Finance and Administration Department is responsible for determining water consumption and creating combined water and sewer bills based on that consumption. This department monitors the collection of payments for the amounts billed on water, sewer and garbage. The Department also responds to customer complaints and provides follow up either internally or by referring complaint to Public Works for field-work or to Skyline Disposal when required.

The Department maintains vehicle stickers, animal tags and daily revenue transactions systems. Accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll for Village employees also fall under this department.

The Finance Director works closely with the Village Manager in the planning and production of the annual budget. Finance also reconciles the general ledger, bank accounts, accounts receivable, property tax revenue, and other revenues and expenditures. This department is responsible for financial forecast of cash, revenue and expenditures and the composition of financial policies and procedures. Finance generates reports for management and the Village Board use and compiles statistical data as requested. The Finance Director is responsible for the planning and production of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) and for communicating with external auditors.
