The Economic Development Committee facilitates economic development and redevelopment in Sauk Village. 

The Economic Development Division responsibilities include:

• Facilitating redevelopment of blighted properties.
• Assisting in marketing available commercial and industrial land and providing resources for business development.
• Assisting with financing for projects that help achieve the Village's development goals.

Sauk Village is proud of its diverse business community, which employs over 3000 people and provides goods and services to local, regional, national and international markets. Sauk Village is home to 2 of the largest OTR shipping companies, a large steel processing plant, and several firms that supply business and industry. It also has a rail and highway access, and is within 40 minutes of Midway Airport. Sauk Village has a large amount of retail space, and large available tracts of land for future development.. The Village of Sauk Village is comitted to maintaining a positive business climate and fully cooperating with the business community to encourage greater economic development and greater employment.
